Asia-America submarine cable network up by August, says PLDT

THE Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) said on Wednesday the 20,000-kilometer (km) Asia America Gateway (AAG) submarine cable network is scheduled to be operational in August this year. to serve the rising demand for broadband bandwidth.
The construction of AAG will enable the Philippines to become a hub for regional and transPacific connectivity and, at the same time, meet the expected growth in the country’s international bandwidth requirements to support broadband applications such as Internet protocol-based data, video and other multimedia services.
